yup even pulled the crossmember to get to the bolts. They are nice and tight. unfortunately the trans rebuilder told me he used gasket sealer cuz the c4 is so old but others i talked to said use just a dry gasket.

I had my c4 rebuilt a few years ago and it is starting to leak in a few spots. First, at the adapter to the transfer case. pulling that today. Second.....trans case to tail shaft housing.......wondering if the tail shaft has to come out to replace this gasket? And if so can it be done while...

I did mine with the Sawzall and a bimetal blade while in the truck. brand new blade.....only took a minute at most.

Thanks for all the feedback. I am using an engine builder and forged is his recommendation. My stroker will be under 400 hp as I plan on keeping my c4. It seems a little excessive to me. Another friend and also an engine builder suggests that I will always need to let the engine totally warm up...

I'm building a 347 stroker. trying to decide on forged pistons or not. i think the warm up time for a forged piston may deter me from using them.advantages/disadvantages?

Awesome. I was worried the 50 oz. would be a problem but now that I know its the 5.0 my concerns are gone. yes some things will have to wait. I just reskinned the doors, new fenders, disc brake conv. susp. lift. all new bushings and steering links, radiator.........the dollars add up quick.

I found mine to be cracked too while rebuilding. I talked to my carb. buddy and he had never seen that either. I continued with the rebuild expecting to find a replacement later however the truck runs fine with that tube cracked. If there is any loss in performance it certainly isn't noticeable.
