    Super Celebration road trip

Day 25: back out West Day 25: 5,368 driven, 634 to home.... Since leaving the super celebration I have been to Bristol (yes, that was a great race, really fun time), down to Georgia to drop off Walker at the start of the Appalachian Trail, and then down and over to Atlanta where my wife had...

    Super Celebration road trip

Day #: ? Not sure Day #?: post Super Celebration & it's Bristol Baby!!! The Super Celebration was just that... SUPER!!! But I must say with all sincerity that all of you, the Bronco community, are the lasting gift we carry away. Beyond any expectations! What I enjoyed the most was hearing the...

Ouch! Break downs are the dread of road trips, but glad you found backup. Steve

    Super Celebration road trip

I for one hope the return trip is not too "interesting." At the end of the weekend Walker and I are driving to Georgia where he starts hiking to Maine on the Appalachian Trail. My wife is flying in to Atlanta and then the two of us will take a couple of weeks to drive the Bronco back home...

    Super Celebration road trip

Day 7 Day 7: 513 miles today, miles to go= 00,000 Apparently, amassing so many Classic Broncos all in one area has caused a magnetic vortex that sucked us across Tennessee to Townsend in one magnificent roll. Did not seriously consider doing this all in one day, but got a hard bite on the bit...

You honked at the right time, that is exactly where we are/were, and now we are chasing you. Time for the am Bronco check over and then out onto the road. I like it that Walker can wrench and I direct, a fine dad benefit.

Yep, that pretty much sums up the whole afternoon. We also are looking forward to meeting folks once we get there and seeing all the Broncs. Soon if we can now stay on track.

    Super Celebration road trip

Day 6 Day 6: Sallisaw OK. to Carlisle ARK. = 205 miles of eastward progress, that leaves 513 miles to Townesd. Man o' man did we go a wandering today. And, it started with such a simple little detour off I-40 to visit an aircraft and military museum in Fayetteville. If there is anything...

    Super Celebration road trip

Oil consumption As per the normal daily pre drive ritual, I checked the oil this morning to discover no oil was needed for the second day in a row. Odd, since I had been adding about 1/2 quart a day. I wonder... ??? I should mention the engine is the original with just 43,000 miles on it at the...

Wow, it really flashed and boomed and rained through the night! Coming from the Central Coast of California were lightning and thunder are rare events it's kinda exciting. Bronco stayed dry (for the moment) under its cover.

Day 5 Day 5: shamrock Texas to Sallisaw Oklahoma, 365 miles= 1,756 from home and only 718 miles to the Super Celebration. Oklahoma has been nothing but wonderful. The morning was as pleasant as any morning yet experienced, tail winds and sunny skies. Went off I 40 to the south to Red Rock...

Ahhh, we did make it to the steak house, really cool and weird all rolled into one. We really enjoyed it. Gear: 3.5, this is a really stock original Bronco.

    Super Celebration road trip

Day 4 Day 4: Albuquerque to Shamrock Texas, 362 miles= 1,430 done, 1,042 to go. Today had a nice rythm to it, never a big push. Lots of Route 66 sights to stop and check out. Nostalgic for me and weird cool stuff for Walker. I was born in Chicago same as my Dad, but we moved to San Diego...

    Super Celebration road trip

Actually, it's been pushing for 300 miles and just became a head wind at the end of the day. We had been discussing it because the gas guage wasn't dropping as normal, curious to check the mileage when we fill up in the morning.
