Mitch, Mitch, Mitch...
You should know by now, you NEVER EVER put anti-freeze into your radiator until you've confirmed that everything is good to go and you don't have to pull it apart again. Or worse yet it leaks all over the place!
No leaks, no re-do's, no nuthin' but runnin' in other words. Until then, just water in the radiator.;)

Fun stuff otherwise. But I can't believe you left us just hangin' waiting for you to fess up and find out what was wrong.
I'm glad I did not know you were going through this before the roundup or I'd have had to make an earlier trip to join the group and watch the fun!

Thanks for sharing another in the "days in the life" series.

Yep, most have run into that at one time or another. Sometimes more than once!
Years ago I was helping a buddy install a newly rebuilt 390 in his pickup. I called out the firing order numbers from a book while he wired the cap. Had a helluva time getting the thing to start - all kinds of backfiring etc. I finally double checked the firing order and realized he wired the cap in the clockwise direction instead of counter-clockwise.
