Double Shear Tire Carrier Hinge

I decided to build my own tire carrier for my rear bumper since I couldn't find any pre-made ones that would work for me. It is nothing special on design, in fact I copied a lot of the design features I saw on Classic Broncos member's rigs. I sourced the latch and the predrilled spare tire mount from RuffStuff Specialities https://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/BUMPER.html but I really was worried about the strength of using an axle style hinge mount since they were only single shear design and I wanted to mount a 37" spare on my tire carrier.

I did some research and finally found a swing out hinge design that was double shear and would work on my bumper. It was from 4XInnovations which is an aftermarket Toyota accessory parts house primarily.

This is why I decided to share this thread as this hinge might work for someone else's needs. Beyond that I just bought 3/16" thick 2" square tubing and started cutting and welding.

Nice work and thank you for including the link. I like the design of the pivot and especially the hold open locking positions.
