Z00743 - built on 7/13/77 is for sale right now. That seems to be a very late one.

My b piller sticker says date 04/77. I assuming that’s the build date? The leading edge of that sticker is missing just guessing the sticker would have said build date 04/77?

My very first post here on the forum, just joined today

My 77 is a U15GLY and according to the Marti Report it was built May 6, 1977, four days ahead of schedule

Interesting it was sold by the dealer where I purchased my first Bronco, a 1982 Custom, I-6 with 4-speed transmission

Just curious if the original color is green? What’s the color code on the VIN?

Thanks,

Blue71

When we ordered our '77, the order was delayed because Ford had to sell a proportionate number of efficient cars. By the time we took delivery, there were already "Big" '78 Broncos along side it on the lot.
Also, the assembly plants didn't have parts to complete assemblies at the end. The assembly plants were having to order parts from dealers to complete orders.
After we bought ours, many repair parts were unavailable. Now days, I can't think of a part you can't buy new.

I once owned U15GLY76703. Got it in 1984 and sold it in 1993. Always thought it was funny that it spelled UGLY cause it was a beautiful blue special decor

Thank you, Dr. Paul, for contacting me about this gorgeous one owner 1977 Ranger that the doctor bought off the showroom floor where it sat till 1980 in this Eastern Tenn. Ford dealership where the owner of the dealership special ordered it for his brother and he never took it home or did they ever title it till this doctor bought it in 1980. It only has 14,700 original miles on it and still has the original window sticker still in placed on the rear window where it was placed back in 1977. I ended up getting a Marti report and it shows this is 1 of 19 built in paint/trim back in 1977. The color is code B Dark Jade Metallic. What a find for sure and it looks and drives like a brand-new vehicle. Thank you to everyone that replied to my search for the just right Ranger, and it finally paid off.
