There have been a few 66' where the vin wasn't found on the frame at all, including a couple of guys here on classicbroncos. I also know of one that was found on the driver's side motor mount, might give that a look too. Other than the usual location, on the frame top behind the starter, the other locations are hard to see the vin with the body on the frame.
There’s also the spot on the passenger side frame rail toward where the seat would be

Any other details on 721157? Haven't noticed that one before
732157? It popped up on FB for sale, the guy was asking what it was worth and didn't know what he had until I told him. Disappeared after that lol, and rightfully so.

I have been reading this string. New to the group. I have a 66 wagon 733138

Is it for sure a BUDD
Was it for sure an august 65 truck
And finally. What’s a wild guess on where it is, roughly, on the earliest vin left list?

Thank you in advance!

It's a first week August 65' Budd build. As far as where it's at on the list, is it a u15, u14 or u13?

It is a U15. Pretty much one owner. I will try to post pictures as that owner somehow kept it original all those years. His name was Ray Chambers and he lived in Michigan. original spare, original keys, drivetrain. It’s pretty darn neat. Thank you for the feedback!

Towood, if you're still in Michigan you should bring it to Broncos on the Mac in June.

If the bronco vins ran sequential it would be #1137, but F100 and broncos ran down the same line and vins were mixed between the two. So not any real way to determine but if it were 50/50, then in the first 600, with probably only about 10%-20% of those still on the road. That's just all speculation though and from gathering 66' u13 vins for the last couple years. Post up pics when you get the chance.

Will do on the pictures. He has every doc and receipt Bill of sale shows he bought at jack dykstra ford in Lansing on 19oct65. $ 2685.14
It is in n Florida now

I have read all the quirks to these bins, but would value all guesses on where it is on estimated survivor lists by vin. Mostly as I have a friend with a 75 bronco and I can’t compete with him on any other level. Definitely not what he paid and definitely not horsepower!

It's very hard to tell. The list of earliest known Broncos has changed a lot over the last 5+ years as these rigs have gained more attention. My friend has #733999. When I realized his truck was so early (about 7 or 8 years ago) it as just outside the top 25. There have been so many discovered since then he's probably around 50+.

Regardless of where it falls on the list, yours is VERY early in production. In my opinion, the historical coolness and uniqueness of your rig puts yours in a different category from ANY 75 Bronco. There aren't many factors that make an early Bronco "special". There are a few trim options/color options, Stroppe's, U13s, U14s, and the early Budd Broncos that are special. Otherwise early Broncos are kind of all the same. Just my opinion, fight me.

If yours has it's original hub caps, sheet metal air duct, rear view mirror, or horn ring, you have a very rare, irreplaceable, highly sought after accessory that has never been repoped (except a few air ducts).

EDIT: If his is a Denver Bronco Edition 75 then he has some standing here. I forgot the DBE's were 75s lol.
