Thanks Mark! There are more than enough flubs when viewed up close and personal, but I am following your wise counsel to keep the ball rolling. Up next are the fenders, grill and tailgate. Once again, grab some popcorn......
Keep in mind brother, we are not living in a perfect world. Those seeking absolute perfection are wasting a lot of energy for ??? What you have there is a Great color scheme going on. It rrrrrRocks! 🕺 🙃

Painted the inside of the grill couple days ago.

20221215_091838.jpg Attached the grill and the roll pan to the fenders.

20221215_163009.jpg Seamseal, and sprayed some high-build primer.

Looked good enuff for the time being

Bolted on the flares in order to figure who, what, where, when, and mostly how on the paint scheme.

20221217_155147.jpg I'm hoping Rooster might say, "Ya dun good, Howard 2x4x4 in beautiful West Michigan".

Tomorrow, maybe one or two more paint colors. Maybe even some clearcoat. Maybe,

With the fender flare installed, it was easier to visualize how the paint scheme could work. Yeah, that's awright for one side, but there are two sides. How'm I gonna get the other side to match?

20221218_125240.jpg Hmmm, maybe, if I made a pattern...... 20221218_124347.jpg

.........and then transfered it to the other side.....

I taped off the areas to be painted other colors later and then sprayed the Gingerale metallic and a bit later some clearcoat. 20221218_164850.jpg

I like the way the roll pan (with frame openings, blinker cutouts and trans cooler air vent) turned out.

Ended up with one significant boogered spot. The flare should cover some of it and it can always be touched up later. boogered spot.jpg

Made me think that paint contains pain.

Sprayed the White Gold metallic (Yeah, it's priced that way, also!) Glad I chose to do the back of the grill in black.

The fenders passed muster for a DIY guy and a 50 foot at 50 mph test. 20221219_170910.jpg 20221219_172134.jpg

Every now and then I like to follow the advice of an ancient Greek philosopher.

Oh, and I sprayed some clearcoat. Not perfect, but good enough for a wayfaring pilgrim who listens to ancient Greek philosophers.

I'm thinkin' I'll do the third color tomorrow, if there is a tomorrow.

Well, I can tell ya this fur shur - If ya don't know what your're doin', it's hard to tell just where you'll end up. Tryin' to find a good home for the 50/50 color. Maybe I'll call the 50/50 color White Ginger.

Eeny, 20221220_152819.jpg meany, 20221220_152807.jpg miney 20221221_121225.jpg ........and then Moe showed up to paint it.

So, that was last night-ish. Right after the boo-boo, i wiped it up (sorta) and tried again. Same lousy result. So I went home, ate supper and went to bed.

And today was a new day! And a new paint attempt! After some strategic sanding, I made a few small changes and adjustments and tried again.

That'll do, Pig! (from Babe )

Interesting how lighting can change the color!

Well, Ken, I really do enjoy learning. Usually by trial and error. Seems to be a lot of error, occasionally. I'm just waitin' to put the 'Built, not Bought' sticker on it.
