I just wanted to write and relate a support experience that I had with Dakota digital last week.
Some years ago I purchased a Dakota digital gauge set for my EB.
Recently I installed Edelbrock ProFlow 4 EFI and I wanted to connect the EFI to the Dakota digital gauges. Turns out that my module has a little 1/8 inch phone Jack for serial input, whereas the module for the proflo setup has a little black plastic plug.
I called Dakota digital and explained my situation, they asked for my name and address and shipped me apart at no cost.
That's great service!

It's always nice to hear stuff like this. A couple of decades ago I bought a Mallory kit similar to a Pertronix and a coil to go along with it. Within two or three years, both of them failed. Called Mallory and told them of the issue and was told to go pound sand. When I told them I'd post about my experiences on the Bronco message board to give others an idea of their crappy parts and terrible service, the customer service guy said something along the lines of if I had a dollar for every time someone told me that, I'd be a millionaire. Well dude, if so many people are telling you about failed parts and your refusal to stand behind them, that should be a big indicator that you have quality control issues. Still the guy's stance was pound sand, your one year warranty is expired.

Dakota Digital helping out their customers is the way things should run. I had a similar experience with AFR when I bought a set of aluminum heads. They went out of their way to help. Guess who gets my business in the future and who doesn't.

It's funny that 20 years later I'm still posting about Mallory's crap parts and service on the Bronco message board just like I told them I would...
