Now we're up to January 21st... just last weekend! Before removing the rest of the tub several items need to be removed first, windshield frame, steering column, dash and components, heater box, brake master cylinder and pedal assemblies...

This is how far things progressed that day:

...And that brings us to today...all caught up finally!

To finish getting it ready to pull the remaining tub I drained the coolant and pulled the radiator and heater box assembly. Disconnected the brake lines and hydro boost hoses and removed the master cylinder assembly as well as the pedal assemblies. After a few other pieces here and there along with unbolting a couple body mount bolts and cutting the other two, the tub was finally ready to go.

Wait, don't go yet....there's more...

So over to the lift we go... Up with the tub carcass and out with the chassis.

Here's a good look at just how rusty, patched, and rusty it is.

And out to the bone yard it goes!

Here's how the rolling chassis sits today, if the weather is good tomorrow I may roll it outside and clean it up some. There's a few areas on the frame to address and fix, but overall it is in real good condition.

It may be sad to see this iconic yellow Bronco looking like this now, but it just means there are better things to come with version 2.0... and I'm excited to be able to take it on that journey.

Thanks for following along to this point... I'll check back in couple more years and update things....😉😆😎

The weather was decent today so I pulled the chassis out for a quick bath. Really just wanted to get some of the grease and grime off to make it a little more pleasant to work on. I'd say mission accomplished, looks much cleaner to me. The fuel tank is coming out next so I can address those rear frame issues.
Here's some before and after shots from today:

All I can say is Wow...
Yes! Wow! The ole girl looked pretty good for the shape she was in!! 😅 Many of us that don't live in the north or the 'rust belt' doesn't really know rust like that and when we see that, we are in shock! In seeing that, I completely understand the need for new tubs!
Thanks for your photo essay Migs!
Tasker is probably loving it too!!! I've gotta ask him if he's going to keep the "PAID-4" plates!!!:LOL::LOL:

She's still running and driving at this point so I was able to take her outside for a quick spin:cool:

Migs - would love to have seen you rollin' down Sawyer Road sitting on a milk crate.... Welcome to New Hampshire! Looks awesome and can't believe how much work being done. As others mentioned, can't believe how much rust was hidden
