Finished up my Sniper install. I had to fab a bracket to mount the fuel pump as low and close the fuel tank which wasn't so easy because it's a tight space and I avoided running 90 degree fittings. So far, it's running great and still in learning mode.

Finally installed the Currie 9" and Wildhorses 2.5" lift on the rear. Had to fight with the rear shackle hangers being too small for the new Super Shackles and poly bushings. Opened them up and everything went together easily. Moved it back 1", looks much better centered in the wheel well. I haven't decided on 32" or 33" tires yet, I am waiting for some parts for the front, and will finish the Dana 44 and 2.5" lift install so I can see exactly how it sits. The current tire is a 31x10.5x15 so I have a little room in there. 20230215_235747.jpg

Lots of stuff lately:

Front end alignment:
Camber was 1.3 on left & 0.6 on right. Now 0.3 & 0.1
Caster was 3.2 on left & 2.8 on right. Now 2.8 & 3.4 couldn't move the needle
Toe was 1.3 on left & 1.2 on right. Now 0.06 on both sides

Installed JB Twin shifters

Installed new mirrors and door handles

Installed stereo system

Working on interior

I need to do this to my Sniper install. The previous owner put 5 - 90 Degree bends and 1 - 45 degree bend between the tank and the frame hard line. My pump so loud and I think that has a lot to do with it.

I've been cutting, trimming and touching up the inner fenders after putting 38" Trail Grapplers on my 1970 Project

Do it quick. Those pumps aren't cheap.

Went to machine shop to drop off a 7.3 IDI diesel block and to see if the machinist still had some 3 bar GT40 heads for sale for my low-buck 302 roller build. He has 'em, but they're piled behind a decade or so worth of blocks, cranks, parts, etc. Hope he has dug them out by the time I show up to pick up the 7.3 block in a week.

I bought some Duff's heavy duty U bolt plates. They have the hole for moving back 1" already drilled. I just had to open the hole up a little for the Wildhorses4x4 nut. I used Rough Country 9/16" u bolts with it simply because they are e-coated black and I didn't have to paint them. 20230211_132836.jpg

Finally got the dash installed for what I hope is the final time!

Also finished scraping the Dana 44 for new paint, after a fresh ARB install with 411s.

Not much spare time to work in shop lately with the full time gig at USPS and all the overtime. Hopefully that will be coming to an end real soon with my planned retirement date of July 28. Just counting down the days now. Was able to get a few smaller jobs completed on my '69. Got my front fenders cut and flares installed finally. Got the leaking sending unit on the auxiliary tank repaired but still no movement from the guage. At least I know I have spare gas when either tank runs out. Fabricated a filler panel for the front grill to cover my 3" body lift gap. Got my bumper guard sanded and painted black. Looks much better than rust or patina. Installed new exhaust tips and put my backseat in. Working on stopping the horrendous rattle noise coming from my spare tire carrier. Spent two hours fabricating and installing a small metal bracket I can bolt the carrier to the bumper. Should have taken 15 mins max but I welded the bracket .0005" too close to the bumper and spent the next hour and a half trying to grind, bend, drill to make it work right. My shop time is like therapy for me so whats an extra hour and a half when having fun right? front driver flare.jpg fill panel in primer.jpg body gap gone.jpg bull bar old.jpg bull bar new paint.jpg exhaust tips.jpg rear seat.jpg
