Barn find 66 by a newbie

That would sell as it sits for 5-6 grand in my neck of the woods (Vermont). I've seen full restorations go from 15 to 25 grand. Depends on quality of the work done. I Love that bench seat. Those are very very hard to find. Congrats on the 66 and welcome to the loony bin!

    Insane RC bronco build

Just a quick update on the progress of Mini-Bronco. Decided it needed to be a half-cab LUBR so on with the show... Made a press die for the uncut rear fenders and formed them to shape. Got the body blasted and in primer to halt the flash rust and then fit the quarters. Forming blank...

    Insane RC bronco build

So my bronco got home this morning and the box it returned in was just a bit heavier than it was when I sent it. The box had an awesome mini Super Celebration banner taped to it. As I unwrap the contents, there is an extra chunk 'O somthin' wrapped up in the middle. LoneRanger and the GCM Boys...

Officially one of you build - Code name Bronconius the Gentleman

I usually use a 3/8 bit and fill weld. Try switching to .025 wire for bodywork. You won't burn thru as much. I also use self tappers to hold things together. Start the fill weld in the middle where the screw hole is and work outwards to connect the top sheet to the bottom material.

    Insane RC bronco build

Holy crap! I didn't realize it had gotten so much attention!!! Thanks for the compliments folks. This started out of a need to work on a bronco over the winter up here in Vermont. Don't have a heated shop but the basement is doable so I started a "Baby Bronco" as my daughter refers to it. It is...

    plow pics

a big thanks to Bruduf for taking a bunch of under hood pics for me. His is a manual steering 6 cyl so if anyone out there has a v8 with power steering I could still use some help.

    plow pics

If anyone has some under hood shots of the pump/bracket location and cable/hose routing for a fisher setup, I really need some reference shots. Mine will have power steering as well.

    76 Luber Half Cab Build

Cool, that's what i've found... many different views of what is the "correct way to do it." What is the purpose for a sealer over the 2k and what is the application (single or multiple coats, how long do you let it flash before basecoat)? Sorry for all the newbie questions but i'm trying to get...

    76 Luber Half Cab Build

Wow! that is great work. How did you go about sealing the halfcab bulkhead to the floor and side filler panels. Not sure what they did from the factory but i'm in the process of building a halfcab and am thinking of how to best seal it all up. Can you give some info on the paint process. Epoxy...

    POR-15 Question for Underbody Coating

I just finished the entire underside of the body, inside floors and rear fender wells. I sandblasted, used the marine clean and metal prep on all surfaces. I spent 1 week chipping off all the factory undercoating and wiping down with thinner before the blasting started. Blasting gives great...

Need reference photos for fisher plow pump location

Need reference photos for fisher plow pump location

I'm in the middle of a half cab plow rig build and have a fisher hydrolic plow setup from a 71 bronco that did not have power steering. I really need pics of how the pump would mount on the motor with power steering and shots of how the lines run and control cables would route. Everything is in...

Question on 3 speed floor shifter conversion

With it mounted, i was able to feel the neutral area between the gates. What i don't know is what rod connects to what shifter on the side of the trans. Is the front one the 2-3 and the rear 1-R and with the levers pointing up, which direction does the lever need to move to get 3 or reverse? My...

Question on 3 speed floor shifter conversion

This is great info. Sorry to hijack the thread! I'm currently trying to fit the hurst shifter from my old 66 6 cylinder 3 speed to the new bronco i'm building with the v8 3speed. The hurst linkage for the 6 cylinder is too short by about 6 inches. Also, I can't figure out which rod goes to which...

    T-Case install with C4

I think it's easier to put in together. Get a cradle for your floor jack if you have one. You can use ratchet straps between the frame rails and under the tranny - t-case combo and ratchet it up and into place. I also was able to use a come-along from my front cage down through the t-case...

    Inboard rear shock mount

i built my own rear mount based on the cross ent. version. I run the national 11 leafs with 3.5 suspension lift and a 2 inch body lift to clear the np435. Duff coils and shocks set in the middle position and I have only a slight bit more roll. I drove it every day this summer and never once felt...
