After a year of sitting went to start my 74, and the powersteering pump started to make alot of noise, well I replaced the pump, and noticed that the lines going to the hydroboost were hot with only about 5 minute run time, could my hydroboost be bad too? thanks for any input

if the right front is correct and you don't want to replace the backing plate then you can take a drill and drill the hole and also use a die grinder with a rotary bit to make the hole oblong, or if you have a volkswagon brake spone all you need is a 3/8 hole drilled so you can adjust them...

yes the big shoe in the rear and small in front, no on the adjuster if you put a right side adjuster it will not turn out, what does the right side backing plate look like?

it looks like the backing plates are switched look at the right side and see if the hole is in the front. if the right side is in front just pull it apart and switch them back, if they are the same them you need to find another backing plate or switch to disc brakes
