    Need help removing locking hubs

I'm trying to remove my Stock Ford locking hubs, as the front wheels did not engage recently when it snowed. I removed the 6 Allen head bolts, but was not able to remove the locking hub. I tried persuading with couple of different weight hammers / mallets but that did not help. The videos I've...

Stalls immediately upon releasing key at start up

My bronco had been running fine for @ 6 months after replacing the starter. Now it refuses to stay running upon start. She fires up immediately but as soon as I release the key dies out. The only obvious wiring issue I found was a broken ground wire in the distributor which I repaired...

Help with Door Lock Cylinder Clip

Soved it Thanks for the feedback. The seal is very thin but I guess I just couldn't generate enough force with my fingers A bit of pressure on the lock cylinder with a large c-Clamp compressed the seal enough to seat the clip.

Help with Door Lock Cylinder Clip

So I have new door lock cylinders with new rubber seals. However, I am having trouble seating the cylinder deep enough for the door clips to seat properly. The seal is dropping into the flat spots (top & bottom) that the clip slides into. I tried carefully cutting a bit of material from the...

    Wiring Question

Thanks SHX669. I thought i was going to upload an image but realized I wasn't able to do so directly into the thread. It is stock wiring , but I'm not sure the gauge. Its the same thickness as the other wiring in the harness. Will check it when i'm home tonight. The end connector is the ring...

    Wiring Question

I recently fried my starter, the relay / solenoid and battery, as well as melted the starter cable wire. Installing my new parts, I found a brown wire from the harness tucked down and behind the battery, while the other wire (yellow, orange, red/blue strip, etc..) run to a connection point...

    mpg method

Thanks. Here's a bit more info. It's the original stock 302, bored out 30/1000s with an upgraded edelbrock cam (I don't have the model # handy) and 4 barrel carburetor. Currently on 31 inch tires, but I might bump them up, as i installed a body lift. I definitely will expect to make use of...

    mpg method

Rear end ratio for drivability So my rear end (4.11) is binding. For 95% road driving, is there any advantage to changing the ratio during a rebuild or swap out? Not so concerned about MPG itself. It has a 302 bored out 30/1000s, 4 BBL carburetor, 3 speed manual. Thanks

Rear end - rebuild or keep driving?

Thanks DirtDonk. I actually saw the gearing. It didn't look too bad to me, but having never experienced a read rend failure nor rebuilt one myself, couldn't rate it on a scale of 1-10. I'm going to run it until there is no doubt it needs replacing. By then I'll have a bit of $$ saved up...

Rear end - rebuild or keep driving?

Thanks guys. I was leaning that way but wanted a second, third and 4th opinion. Definitely would like to take my time and make sure I select the correct upgrade, gear ratio etc.. when it's absolutely necessary to replace it. Who knows, by then I might have a 5 speed swap

2" body lift - mods required?

Thanks guys - all good info. I did run new brake lines, fuel lines, new fuels cells and addressed the radiator location / shroud issues. I thought I was all set until I saw the 2" lift instead of the 1" we'd discussed. He ordered the parts not me. now I'm trying to minimize the unnecessary costs...

Rear end - rebuild or keep driving?

The mechanic opened up the rear end to replace fluids. its a 9". (It's been siting 22 years). He pointed our some pitting on some of the drive gear teeth and recommended a rebuild. Believes these were the gear teeth that were not coated in oil while the truck sat so long. I've dropped more than...

2" body lift - mods required?

Am getting close to my Bronco coming out of the shop. One of the projects was to add a body lift kit. I had planned for 1" but they installed 2". Also have brand new suspension (springs, shocks) I'm looking for some advice on 2 questions / concerns the mechanic addressed based on the 2" lift...

Any threads focused on street Broncos?

Mark, are your running the Bilstein 5100 Series Shock Absorber? Since my truck has been sitting in a garage for 20 years, should I also consider new springs?

Thanks for all the insights. I'll be back for more advice when I actually have the engine installed and move on to the other projects

Any threads focused on street Broncos?

My 75 Bronco will spend 90% of its time on the roads once it stops spending 100% of its time in the garage. It's pretty much stock with the exception of an engine rebuild and as of right now I have no plans to lift or otherwise modify it so I am curious if there are any threads or websites...
