    My build with my son

Tire size and transmission often dictate which gears people recommend. The typical rule of thumb for a non-overdrive transmission is 4.11 gears for 33" tires and 4.56 gears for 35" tires.

New guy here: UPDATE page 3 with pics - Going to look at a 76 that's been sitting.

4-year old gas in the tank & lines may be a problem. You could bring a boat gas tank, some fuel line, a couple inline filters and a spare fuel pump. Then you could rig up a temporary fuel system to drive it on & off the trailer.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I test drove a Badlands with the MGV, soft top and 2.3/7MT today. The vinyl was nicer than I'd expected, and the Bronco was very comfortable overall. The soft top was pretty quiet too. I don't know if I'm any closer to deciding what I want. Will have to mull it...

Thinking about ordering a new 4-door Bronco once the order banks open up, and trying to decide which model/options to go with. For the same money ($53K-ish), would you rather have: Option A: Badlands, non-Sasquatch, 2.3L, 7-speed manual, hard top, high package, towing package Pros: - Stabilizer...

Jeep Gladiator AdvanTEK OEM Axles in a Bronco?

Fred Williams from Dirt Every Day has a series of videos on YouTube where he installs a pair of these AdvanTEK axles in a 2018 JL. In this video he talks about why he chose these axles and plans to run 37's.

    Holley Sniper Pro?

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge installed? One of the issues I had with the Sniper was related to the internal fuel pressure regulator. The IAC was fighting excessive fuel pressure.

Is There any way to escape Chinese junk?

I remember listening to a podcast where Jonathan Ward from ICON was the guest. He was explaining why the reproduction body panels fit so poorly. I think it went something like this: - If a body panel didn't fit well on the assembly line, they set that panel aside. - The discarded panels were...

    Explorer 5.0 Trouble Codes

I spent last week downloading and learning how to use FORscan. Did some data logging, sent files to EFI Guy, etc. He suggested I swap the O2 sensors left-to-right to see what would happen. I think I found the problem: Untitled[/url'] Looks like the front driveshaft pushed the crossover pipe up...

    Explorer 5.0 Trouble Codes

Thanks for the reply. PCV is connected to the upper intake manifold. I'll try trouble-shooting the O2 sensor. Are you sure about the passenger side being bank 2?

    Paint shops in Austin area?

I used Twomey Auto Works on S. Congress a few years ago to do some paint & body work after a fender bender. They did a pretty good job matching the non-factory paint color. https://www.yelp.com/biz/twomey-auto-works-paint-body-and-frame-austin-2 You might check with Jesse at Hella Bad Broncos...

    Explorer 5.0 Trouble Codes

I have about 600 miles on my Explorer 5.0/4R70W install. The check engine light came on recently. Code reader came up with P1506 - Idle Air Control Overspeed Error. I did a visual check for vacuum leaks and decided to replace the IAC (assuming it was original.) Now I have a P1151 - Lack of...

    Warflares and Rock Sliders

Thanks Paul. This would be my preference. Can these flares be contoured with a heat gun to overlap the sliders? Here are some more detailed pics of the sliders/rockers. I may need to notch the slider a bit more to clear the front rocker support on the inside of the body. Inside...

    Warflares and Rock Sliders

I'm mocking-up some new rock sliders from White Knuckle Off Road and WH Gorilla Warflares, and could use some guidance. The rear fenders were cut and flared when I bought the Bronco. Fronts are currently uncut. Untitled[/url'] First question is about the sliders. My rockers were a bit dinged-up...

    Explorer setup sans explorer ecu

Agreed. In my personal experience, the Sniper (which was better than a carburetor) required a lot more fiddling-with and didn't have the drivability of the Explorer EFI.
