My Dad had a ‘71 LTD wagon and was sent a sticker from FORD (I think) to alert the driver to not let idle in park. It was a 400 cube w/C6. My brother had it pop in reverse at a scap metal yard just after Dad fixed the rear tail light (yes damaged again). To this day I don’t like to idle my 69EB.
I agree with sawzall option to remove the tubes and a cut-off wheel after. The best sawzall blade I have used is a Lennox “Arc”. If the sockets fail >> When in doubt, Vice Grip it out. Use needle nose Vice Grips with the tube or regular ones with the tube gone. Good luck.
I have those on my 69EB that is mainly street driven. Mine are from Duff and work well. I’m running 35’s with 2 1/2” lift. I’m building a driver 71EB and bought another set. Same lift and they are an easy take off if you change your mind later. It all comes down to how you plan to run the...
