    Fitech Tuning

I’m running an in-tank pump that’s rated at 340Lph and 90psi, but your response got me thinking and looking around. Apparently I need to rewire it with larger gauge wire to handle the current to get those higher pressures.

    Fitech Tuning

So I had a chance to mess with the rig this morning. I had installed a fuel pressure gauge at the FiTech inlet a little while back... with the system on but the engine not running it shows 40psi. With the engine running it shows 30psi. When I ease into the throttle the pressure remains around...

    Fitech Tuning

I’m guessing the tank is 7ish years old. I bought it off Kyle Malone. I opened it up when we swapped the pump and there wasn’t any corrosion in there. However like Eoth said I also had fuel issues when I had the carb on it. Once I got up to about 2000rpm (I think) it would run poorly. I think we...

    Fitech Tuning

Thanks for the responses! I have an aeromotive in-tank pump in a BCB 23gal tank. I'd have to search for the model, but it's plenty powerful for the application. Braided line with aluminum fittings on the pressure side and rubber line with barb fittings for the return IIRC. I have a single...

    Fitech Tuning

I had a guy install a Fitech system on my bronco last year. Since installing it, it hasn’t run worth a damn. I’ve put about 150 miles on it and don’t enjoy driving it because it’ll barely go. If I give it anything more than a slight amount of throttle it craps out and if I stay in it it will...

    Bad Engine, need help

Well, piss.... When you pulled the heads was there any water sitting in the cylinders?

Restore or Build it the way I want??

My 74 was completely original when I bought it. Now, nothing on it is original, lol. I built it the way I wanted and have no regrets about doing it. I just picked up another one that's pretty much original, which I'll be upgrading. IMO unless it's in immaculate original condition and can go...

Thanks! I'd been scouring CL every few hours and messaged the PO about four hours after it was listed. Definitely got lucky. They don't last long at what he sold it to me for.

    Bad Engine, need help

I vote head gasket. Intake gasket is a possibility, but when mine was improperly torqued and leaking I was getting fluid dripping off the backside of the motor, not internally. It's certainly possible it's an intake gasket, but I would think you'd get some leaking outside of the motor as well.

    Bad Engine, need help

Sweet Jesus I love this Bronco... It's actually how I'd like the one I just picked up to look like when it's done. Don't worry, it'll be a different color ;D. What the lift and tire size? Sorry for the hijack...

    Bad Engine, need help

I'd replace the head gaskets and see if you still have the water in the engine problem. It can be done without removing the motor and is a lot cheaper than buying a whole new motor to replace what could be a simple problem. While you have the heads off check for any cracks in them. As far as...

He already has a pony. Momma is a horse trainer, so there's no getting away from them %)... I hope he takes an interest in the Broncos though It'll be a fun project. Color is the hardest decision, but right now I'm planning on an engine refresh, 5spd tranny, A/C, wiring, and of course...

    Brought home another

I wish I could wait and do the whole thing together, but I don't want to run the risk of him not wanting to work on it so I'm stuck doing by myself anyway. He's a great kid, we couldn't have gotten luckier with him. He's really into horses because of his momma, so I imagine he'll be doing the...

    Brought home another

Well, over the last 7+ years of being in the bronco world I've learned some valuable lessons. Most importantly that when you make plans to do a frame-off plan on it taking twice as long and costing twice as much, lol. The 74 I bought all those years ago is pretty much done after finally...
