    I've read a gillion threads but nobody has mentioned it... Are there factory style rivets I can get to replace the ones I obviously must drill out to rebuild/ recover with foam, the defrost flap in the heater box on a 71? What do you folks use?

    You are the best, thank you, It was in the wrong side forward. Went back together like butter until I had to fight the darned new snap rings, all is well and this boy is happy again.

    It engages, but the space is so prolific that the synchro is allowed to drop between the two and bind if the tranny is rocked back and forth

    All good points, but the SPACE between the synchro and the lead clutch fork in neutral makes the SPACE between the synchro and the base and the slide very very large, that's wherein my issue lays. Any advice> Maybe top gear snap ringed into the back shaft is backwards>

    https://ibb.co/fN7TXK As seen here, the front shift slide goes forward perfectly, and back eventually perfectly, but the synchro going backwards has a huge gap. I'm curious if I flipped that darn gear/slide the slide works over the wrong way on reassembly...
