A real shot in the dark but the neutral safety switch?

It will die when i put it in gear , at idle. It will be ideling fine then put it in gear under no load other than in drive or reverse and it will cut off if i don,t tap the gas.Any thoughts

Are the idle mixture screws on the front base of the carb on each side?

I swapped the stock carb for a b.c. bronco q-jet.and it got a new fuel filter at thet time. I called chuck and he suggested timing. So i adjusted it to 10 base line and then had to adjust the idle or it would die.It ran better but idled in gear, stopped, like crap .It would die after ideling...

I had the same thing with mine i would say bad ground cable. The corossion can get under the insulation and work it's way up. i was told this by a wise lister about a year ago.
