Modifications

Exterior Mods
pretty much stock 302 with the usual headers and 4-barrel carb, . stock 3spd with Hurst conversion. and stock D20. 9" rear carrier replaced with a 31-spline traction lok . Dana 44 carrier replaced with a traction lok from a late 70's Bronco. DS II distributor controlled by a gm hei module.. Explorer serpentine conversion - the AC compressor is mounted but doesn't do anything - have a York compressor to install
Interior Mods
3 1/2" lift is on the wish list. manual steering replaced with the 4x4x2 swap. front drums replaced with late 70's F150 discs. Astro Hydroboost purchased/not installed
Drivetrain Mods
stock doors are stored - have had the 1/2-doors installed for three years now. Top has not been back on in that time either.. bed floor and supports have been replaced; front fenders replaced; front door posts replaced; ugh. 6-pt cage. 1-inch WH body lift
Suspension Mods
$30 pair of buckets from the pap - not as comfortable as stock but the ER nurse Mrs. says headrests are mandatory
Wheels and Tires
A 351 roller is in the works - still gathering parts.. So far:. Blocked checked and bored 0.030; pistons fitted +/- 0.0005"; cam bearings installed. GT40P heads checked, new valve springs/keepers/seals and valve job. ARP head stud kit, gaskets, rings, bearings, timing chain, oil pump purchased.. crankshaft cleaned. Explorer balancer rebuilt/balanced by Damper Dudes.. an additional explorer seep setup bought to hopefully make this a one day swap.. Have a 4-barrel cast-iron intake but looking around.. The ridiculous amount of crankshaft endplay in this 302 goes to show that you can sure get all the good out of one of these before it finally dies!
