Not sure if the top tube will stay like this, but progress was made.

Jaromy, what size tubing did you use for your engine cage? I'm starting to work on mine this week, and yours looks about right. I was planning on a mix of 1.5 and 1.25 tube...I have a 1" die also, but it looks pretty tiny!

Thanks!

That is all 1.5”. I used 1” for the inner fender supports that aren’t shown in that pic. The inner fenders are being removed because they look cluttered and I won’t have as much stuff to find a home for with the EFI.

Cool - thanks! I'm working on figuring out all of the tubing I am going to need to keep things rolling (engine cage, roll cage, suspension links, steering links, panhard, etc.), and I'm not looking forward to seeing that quote! I am, however, excited to get my Bronco back on the road!

The prices for tubing have gone up lately. I wish I was driving mine right now.

I got the engine and transmission installed today.

Third times a charm v2.0 - starting the Explorer EFI swap

What kind of paint have you been using on the frame and firewall?

Most of the time I use Duplicolor engine enamel because I think it holds up the best. On the engine, all of the gray is powder coat and the black is Eastwood 2k.

Looks good Jaromy! ;)

Thanks Doug, you have been a big help.

I got a few things done today. Installed the heater hoses, power steering pump, serp belt, hydroboost and harness wrapped in Tesa tape. I didn’t wrap the MAF and IAT because I’m not sure of the final placement.

That Tesa tape is good stuff Jaromy!
Just finished up the dash portion of my AAW harness on my 67 today, and used it.

Looks good!

Thank you. I don’t plan to use anything else going forward. We had the hood open on my brother in-laws new F450 and it looks like they used Tesa tape in a few areas.

I’m excited to have a nice running engine that won’t stall going up opstacles in Moab

After receiving a few pics from some members I designed and built a bracket that will work with the Explorer throttle body and stock cable. The prototyoe worked well so I will have a few cut and formed for a few friends that are interested.

Nice bracket! Cut a bunch and sell them in the marketplace—I would be in for a couple.

Very nice Jaromy... Definitely make a few and sell them, after a little "Beta" testing around the hood ;)

I’ll make a few and offer them up after a few local guys have a chance to install them

Started on the C115 firewall wiring. I hope I’m not missing anything ;D

Finished up the relay side. Now I’m on to the side that runs into the cab.
