Does anyone know about these aftermarket hard tops?

So long story short, I fell in love with this hard top on CL, and was going to have it shipped to TX, but another buyer that was previously talking to the seller of it jumped back into the picture so the deal looks like it will likely fall through.

It is made by a company called “night Ryder” or “night rider”.

Anyone have any info on them? I just love the look of them.

Thanks!

That looks like something you and I could build over the weekend with a case of PBR on ice lol. I remember seeing it on CL or FB but I've not heard of the company before.

hahaha, yeah, pretty rudimentary but I really dug the uniqueness (or ugliness) of it. plus the front has that transparent part and I thought that was insanely cool.

Looks like too many speciality parts to be home made. Defiantly not mass produced. It does have the late 70's camper shell style to it. I'm going with special ordered, custom made, one off top. I remember that embossed wood grain aluminum as a kid. That stuff did a pretty good job hiding dents compared to the other options.

Agree it looks like a local camper manufacturer made it. The skylight is a cool feature. Ask the seller if there is a manufacturers tag on it.

Is this the one on the Oregon Craigslist?

It is, I had been talking with the buyer, and had agreed on price, but the guy who flaked out last weekend when he wanted to buy it is now back in the picture.

Looks like a Defender-inspired homeowner special.

That's kinda why I like it, plus I am a bit on the taller side, and it was gonne be nice to have a little extra headroom.

I kind of like it. I think with some body work and smoother line it can look sharp.

Yeah, I think its cool, and way lighter than a traditional hard top, which was another factor I was very excited about.
