I am in need of a hard top for my 77 Bronco. What are the differences in the years? Thanks for your time. Don

The biggest difference you will find is the bolt pattern on the windshield frame. The early models with vacuum wipers had a different bolt pattern than the newer ones with electric motors. 66-68 I think were vacuum maybe 69 as well. The early models had bolt in support bows for the tops as well the later models were welded in. I think there are a couple extra braces in the rear corners of the early models as well, can't remember for sure. I think the stake pocket braces are a bit different on the early models as well. 66 had a difference in the back hatch as well, can't remember what it was exactly (shape of the hatch I think) , I just know they are different. You can make any of the tops fit with a few new holes drilled in the windshield frame area. Finding parts for the 66 rear hatch might be a bit more difficult than the newer ones.
I might be off on the specifics but hopefully someone else will chime in as well.
Hope it helps, good luck!

The '66-'68s had a square corner at the top corners of the lift gate opening and the '69-'77s have a triangular piece there. This makes the weather stripping different for that reason and the fact that the later type wasn't expected to have the top come off. Ford apparently had dropped the topless idea by then. The bolt holes are easy to fix. I use a '68 windshield frame on my '77, with the knobs holding it up. It will fold down.
