front backing plates

Anybody know if Dana 30 front drum backing plates are the same as Dana 44 backing plates? Mark in San Diego. Beach City roncos

subscribing to hear what others say.
Basically, the quick answer if it's a '76/'77 44 is NO they don't fit. Whether or not they can be made to fit is what I'm interested in. Even with the same diameter brakes and same shoes and such (but some different drums) the five bolt big hole vs six bolt small hole would be the big kicker.
If it's from a drum brake 44 with the same bolt pattern though, I'm not sure if it's not just a bolt-on.

Curious what anyone has found from trying over the years.

I have a set of D44 backing plates off of my 72 from when I changed over to disc brakes. I could take some measurements and get pics if it helps. Let me know.
