I don,t have any pics of some different look, but I got a chance to work on the bronc yesterday and got the drivers quarter welded on using my new spot welder. The new welder works good but doesn't have the power the old one did. I,m going to try and get the front clip in place today if I get the chance, and there will be some pics of a new look.

Front clip.

Well I got some time to work on the bronco tonight and got the front clip welded on along with some braces that go on the firewall. After it was done I was surprised that it is very sturdy, I didn't think that I would be able to lift the whole body using it as a lifting point but I can. Thats good news that I can now get it on a rotisserie. Here's some pics, man does that spot welder work nice. :):):);D

Looking great Pat!! That welder's doing a great job.. Glad I'm not using all new metal, I'd have to buy one of those too....

Also, DO NOT lift it by the front clip w/o bracing it well... You'll find several post's of guys who did and had them fold on them.. You've done way too much to have that happen now..

I got to thinking about it and I think lifting it using the front clip would ok strait up, but for rotating it onto its side would not be to good without x braces across the front.

I got another chance to get out in the garage today and bolted the fenders an grille on and do a good alignment on all the sheetmetal to make sure its all gonna work before Get into the bodywork stage. It all went together well but the pass fender I wasn't happy with and still not but its still a work in progress and tomorrow will be all she wrote for the welding. The right fender was buckling out behind the tire, in front of the door on the bottom when I put the bolts in and tightened them and no matter what I did it would not go away so I cut the fender up the back edge to relieve it and now it works out. It also seams to be made a little wrong up at the hood so tomorrow I will cut it up there and bo the same. Here are some pics.

Cool, cant wait to get to that stage.. I've had to do a similar repar on my inner fenders. I'm not sure what the cause of your's was, but, its amazing to see how far off some things can be, and it may have been acceptable at the factory in the '70s.. There were some mind altering substances floating around back then;D

A few pics of what I was able to get done so far today. The left fender was setting above hood level at the edge, so I cut it at the bend and removed some metal and pushed it down and welded it. T like to do this kind of thing on a bend to control the warping. the other pics show the back of the fender where I finished the welding and grinding from yesterday. Now the fender fits as it should and you can't even tell it happened.

Went back out to the garage after supper and just went around welding small things up to complete the welding. I took the bulkhead out and saw that I forgot to weld the bed floor to the upper seat floor pan. All the welding is now done and next time I work on it I'll get the grinding done before final media blasting. This bronco body is all metal now, with no holes anywhere;D;D;D:cool:.

The sandblasting is just going to be quick and light to clean it up before rust bullet paint, I already have all blasted clean but from sitting all summer it is just getting a little brown, there won't be any holes popping up. I can't believe I don't have any pics on here of the whole bronco?:? my camera must not be big enough;D I,LL get some up after I get the grinding done.

I went out in the garage tonight and NGA was right, I,m not done with the welding. I forgot to weld the piece on the front floor for the parking brake cable, this also needed a hole cut for it, and the other end of that cable needed a bracket welded to the floor. Then I got to looking and the gas tank filler tube also needed a bracket welded to the tub. While I was doing all this bracketry work I repaired one of the rear front fender braces. I still have some plates to make for under the floor for the retractable seat belts to bolt, these holes are shared with the bulkhead. Heres some pics.

Got those support plates made for under the floor for the seat belt bolts, then welded them in. Now I think the welding is done, and since I don't have work tomorrow I am going to dedicate the day to grinding welds here and there and then prep my dummy frame with those big tires on it for the transfer of the body onto it on Saturday so that I can make sure I have clearance everywhere its needed. I,m planning on cutting enough out for those 35's to fit without a lift, then of coarse I will put a 3-1/2" lift on later. I didn't take any pics today.
