Bronco day for a week. Went to drive it. Runs like crap. Ran fine before. Almost like when I had the o2 sensers reversed. Changed the o2 sensers since they were not new ones. Could keep alive voltage cause it to run like sh!t? Where do I start? 99 explorer motor edis swap.
Thanks
Karl

Check battery terminals and KAPWR wire (yellow 55??).

KAPWR probably not enough to make it run like crap. I'm guessing you have low voltage to entire PCM.

How is the charging system and battery Karl? Any drains in the system that could have run the battery down?

Thanks Doug. I’ll check all that. Battery was disconnected while it sat. And didn’t have time to check it out due to mothers day. I’ll check it out this week. Having withdrawals from driving it.

Voltage with positive off the battery. Voltage with motor running. I’ll dig into it and post back more info.
Thanks
Karl

Remove the pcm and check from the plug. May have a voltage drop down the line.

Correct, check pin 55, it should have battery power at all times. Also check every ground pin, 24,25,51,76,77, and 103.

It could make it run a little off, but it shouldn't run like crap. If you get an ELM327 and a Windows laptop I can remote in and take a look.

Thanks Garry.
I’ll check all those in the next few days. I will definitely get the elm327 and a laptop.
Thanks

Well. Figured out the code problem. I had pulled the wrong fuse and it was for the keep alive power wire to the ecm. The running like crap problem was a bad spark plug boot. It was sparking on the exhaust manifold. New wires fixed it. Runs great now. I picked up a laptop for $50 and the elm 327 dongle that GARRY recommended will be here on Monday. So in the future if I have problems, GARRY can remote access my ecm.
