I've seen reseal kits for my 4x4x2 box but haven't seen any that replace the guts. My steering box has a little more play in it than I'm comfortable with and was considering trying to rebuild it myself rather than send it off to blue top or a shop like that. I've tried adjusting it but its it's just too worn out to get all of the play out.

You may find seal and bearing kits but doubt the hard parts are available without just finding another box. Today I found a so cal guy. that sells 4x4x2 boxes. I think $350 was the price.

Thats about the price of a blue top with shipping included. I may give that a shot. Looks like west coast broncos used to sell them but all of their links are dead

FYI, I called B.C. last week and they do have the 4x4x2 boxes and the frame plate kit too.

Both Blue Top and RedHead ended up making internal parts for older Ford steering boxes since they went out of production and the NOS parts supply dried up.
So if you need internal parts and want new ones they are the ones to go to.

That makes sense, thanks! I'll give it a shot

I meant the sector shaft is likely bad.

Ford in their infinite wisdom decided that leaving out a bearing supporting the lower part of the sector shaft would save them money, never mind that it makes them vulnerable to breaking and twisting.

Redhead and Blue Top will add a bearing for the bottom of the sector shaft.
