Not stock is correct. All aftermarket. Grant is the cheapest. That is the typical aftermarket wood steering wheel.

But you asked for the "best". Best is such an open statement. Best value, best quality, best looks, best?

Not cheap, but I like them, www.Con2R.com makes some very nice wheels. I consider them the "best" for what I like. They do have wood options. Keep in mind they don't stock wheels, they make them to order. What they list isn't everything. Custom means custom, different finishes are always an option. Want a different species of wood over what's listed, they can do it.

wood wheel

scott Drake sells a feroce and lecarra makes one. They are best with aftermarket columns. I do not care for the Grant. Pictured is the scott drake

I have a Grant, which I like well enough. The only issue is moisture has a big impact on it.

I have a grant wheel on mine and while I love the look, the groove around the edge and the rivet holes cut into my hand a bit. I’ve been thinking about filling it with some kind of epoxy or something and sanding it smooth.

Late 70’s or early 80’s “Superior” wheel I had forever. I have found nothing else quite like it in the new market but they come up plenty enough on ebay.
