Interior Decisions

Trying to determine which direction I should go with my interior. I just removed the front bench seat as I think I'm going to go back to buckets.

How do I determine if the bench is original to a Bronco?

I bought some original seats that will need recovering and foam, but are pretty decent otherwise.

Wondering if I should sell the front bench and put the proceeds into re-foaming and recovering these seats OR if I should buy a set of Tom's Premium seats or something (less hassle!)

I typically run a Spice colored Rampage soft-top so was thinking a Tan or Saddle with hounds-tooth inset if I recover... I like the classic style looking seats.

Decisions, decisions....what would you do? Here's some pics if it helps identify if the bench is an original...

The hinges and hinge covers look original, but the upholstery is definitely not. 71' was the last year for bench seats.

Compare your seat to these photos. This is an OEM front bench.

Thanks gang. Yes it appears original and I will post up some pics but brackets all look like that etc. (It should be original as that was part of the deal when I bought it :))

I heard the market is pretty good for these, any ideas on asking price if I decide to sell? Has the slight tear and likely needs refoaming/covering...

If you use that rear seat, you've noticed how awkward it is to get back there with a front bench.
You'll end up the same with aftermarket seats that don't fold-n-tumble. I gave away my rear seat when I replaced the front ones with aftermarket.

Totally agree! I had the bench because I have 3 kiddos. When they were little they would just topple over the bench to get in the rear with one in the middle up front. Being that my college bound 18 yr old is bigger than I am now it's no longer feasible (haha)!;D

I like the stock buckets rebuilt with new foam and added headrests the bracket just bolts on. found in Mustangs and Torino. I used Torino bench seat headrest which are shorter and narrow and I can still flip and fold the passengers seat.

I like the original stock seats as well. Rebuilt with new "Seat Buns" and upholstery. Your Wimbledon White would look great with Ginger Interior. The 72 Explorer Ginger Upholstery is my favorite and unique. The Ginger Ranger Interior is nice too. You can find both of these at Bronco Hut.

Thanks for feedback. Here's the underside of the stock bench.

Yes, was leaning towards ginger houndstooth or I've heard of a "saddle" houndstooth.

There is the Ginger, that looks like saddle color and the lighter color Ranger Tan with the Houndstooth as well.

Highly recommend going with TMI Sport foam and upholstery. This gives added bolstering. Most comfortable “stock” seats I have ever sat in. I put this in my half cab and I have a set for my 72 ready to be installed.

Can we see pics? Particularly of them installed? I’m going with this option too, but I’ve never seen a set, other than the pics on their website. Thanks
