Congratulations! Can you post up the specifics on your Pebble Beige touch up paint? Sorry if I missed it on an earlier post.

Hey Chucky, I ordered a can of primer and paint from PaintScratch.com... Seems they carry quite a bit of stuff and can custom match to specific panel if you send them in. They also give the option of single stage or not. I chose to use single hoping it would match the truck a little better.

Unfortunately yesterday when I went out to fix the tiny coolant leak I noticed a large puddle of oil underneath the rear of the motor.

Best case scenario is its the oil pan gasket (unlikely) but in all honesty it looks like the rear main is leaking. So after I get home from a vet appt. with the dog I reckon I will start pulling the trans. I surely dont want to pull the motor back out the front.

Also, what kind of oil pressure is everyone running. I hooked up a mechanical gauge and it looks to be reading around 60 warm idle and with and gas up to 70-80... Seems a little high to me but this is my first fresh motor.

Finally got my bronco back on the road and was able to take a 400+ mile one day road trip on back roads in NC to test it out.

I put the motor in as I stated a while ago and ended up with a bad rear main seal leak. Listening to a buddy and the internet I took the transmission and transfer case out to fix it. I thought it would be easier than pulling the motor but quickly realized that isnt the case. Ive never messed with a Ford motor before but now I know better. A friend came over and gave me crap about pulling everything apart but helped me get a new rear main in, this time tilting the seams at an angle, and reinstall everything else.

For now everything seems to be okay but has a few minor issues to figure out. I have an electric fuel pump just below the rear main tank. (auxillary tank not hooked up right now) If I would let the bronco sit idling while I was fueling up or taking pictures it would warm up and as I would drive off it would buck and pop as if it was starving for fuel. My guess is it is a case of vapor lock and fuel is evaporating out of the stainless line above the intake before getting to the carb. Anyone else experience this issue? I was thinking I could wrap the line in something, maybe header wrap?, to help keep the heat off the line.

Stunning!
I should bought the L78’s instead of the 7.00-15
Do like them also thought.

Not sure about your fuel issue - but taking her out for 400 miles is a great accomplishment - congratulations. Pictures as always, are spectacular.

Thanks guys! I am stoked it made it. I'm not 100% satisfied yet but it could be a never ending process as we all know. Haha I plan on traveling in my bronco as much as I can and really wanted to shake bugs out if they were there. When it got dark out I started getting a little nervous and bummed I drove so far away from home but I made it back. Haha I plan on making it to Townsend this fall and thats about 300 or so miles from the house, plus all the cruising around out there so it will need to be ready. I have a campsite at the KOA scheduled so I'll be there one way or another.

Went camping at Twin Rivers Campground in NC in the bronco this weekend. First time spending a few nights in the bronco. I was solo with the dog so I chose not to bother with a tent and test out the bed of the bronco. Its not too bad. With the tailgate down I can fit with my pillow up against the bulk head and sleep fairly comfortably. I'm going to have a buddy build a rack for the bronco that will incorporate some sort of awning system for the rear but until then a tarp setup does fine to keep the rain out. Unfortunately, I didn't take but a couple pictures with my phone.

Had a nice cool morning here in NC so I drove around in the fog some while drinking my coffee. Here's a couple pics. Included some of the motor now which has already started peeling paint in a couple spots unfortunately Oh and I lost a gas cap, Got a new one on the way.

Things planned for the near future:

- Thinking of reinstalling stock manual fuel pump to possibly curb any possible electric pump issues. (Heat, low pressure possibility)

-Will probably reinstall auxiliary tank but have thought of possibly adding a water tank and pump in its place for camping but I haven't looked too much into sizes and obviously I don't want to be drilling holes all in this bronco.

-Fix a tiny leak on the water inlet pipe on intake. Seems to seap out a little from there.

-Need to do a 1500 mile check on my plugs, timing etc just to make sure everything is still looking good.

-Hopefully I'll get the Warn 8274 installed one way or another. Need a little break from work to get some things figured out and drawn up.

I love this truck. Great color and awesome how you kept the original paint and are just adding upgrades. Some of those pics are calendar worthy!

Took my bronco on an eastern TN test run to make sure I'll make it to Super Celebration... Everything went awesome and I was able to cruise at about 65 on the highway stretches getting around 13 miles to the gallon. Of course I like cruising the back roads better but sometimes highways are neccessary. Some friends and I got together to camp at the Nolichucky Campground in Erwin, TN. It was a blast, I just wish I got more pics of my camp set up. Hopefully I'll be getting a custom roof rack built soon to make camping out of the bronco that much better... Here are the pics I did get.
