I just did one myself. After cutting, welding and priming I decided to wrap it just to see what it would look like before painting it. If I was better it would be a good option but it would need to be done professionally to get it perfect.

Do you remove your cage to get your dash out?

No fortunately it was not close enough to prevent the dash from coming out. I had to spin it around the steering column but not an issue.

I'm cutting dash in half like I did to the Firebronco..
Also got a quote for vinyl wrap at a local trim shop close to me. Thinking it is cheaper than paint. I was wrong. $300. just to cover the dash. I guess they gave me the "I really don't want to do it" quote.

Awesome... been working on my dash all day. It wasn't nearly as far gone as yours... but still it's been nothing but problems up to this point. Gotta love these things.
