Finally looked it over today. The tub seems to be completely new. Will have to clean up and fix somethings. The frame is rusted on the rear and not worth repairing. I think I’ve got a good frame from an old project though.

Was the '71 also part of an insurance auction? Or could be a mechanic's lien and they just sent it through to get as much as possible for it. Either way it looks like a solid start. I have always been curious about auto auctions, but the ones I have looked at around me require a business license or use of a broker just to gain access.

This was an insurance auction. I don’t know the story behind it but it was listed as fire damage. It had a fiberglass hood that was burnt. I’ve got a dealer and salvage license but at some IAAI AND Copart Auctions you don’t need a license to bid. Make sure you’re prepared to pay fees on top of your bid though. Surprisingly a lot of people don’t realize how much the fees are! And usually broker fees aren’t too bad.

Had pulled the seats and carpet out of the 74. Started pulling up the Dynamat to make sure the rear floor pan was good. Yea gave up on that idea! That stuff is pain to remove. The front floors are warped up badly. From the strikers back looks useable for someone. After I get it stripped down I’m probably going to sell the tub or either make a trailer out of it.

Now it looks like you are going somewhere. The latest purchase is a great find and with the blue one for parts you are set!

A member sent me this picture from Facebook group Bronco Takeover. Still don't know the story behind it though.

I've had it for 2 weeks now I think and have worked on it 2 hours. Geesh at this rate it'll take me as long as JD!

Dang...... I am going to have to start getting back on here more often to defend my name and honor! LOL

My bronco is running and driving..... I just dont drive it much. Still have some work to do on it though. Maybe I can get a thing or two done on it soon and drive it more.

Joey, you will have that one fixed up and running in no time. I know how you are and have seen the builds you have done first hand.

I need to get by the shop sometime. I havent been by in a WHILE!

Did you ever get the Fairlane done for your dad?

The Galaxie you mean? No we haven’t fooled with it. It’s basically a catch all table right now. Allen from MS called and wants me to do a Coyote conversion on his orange 74. So that will be a little more time but I’m not complaining.

That is a nice looking Bronco. Do you know what the color is called on that BC Soft Top? Got any more pics of the top with the sides on? I am currently deciding on a color.

Actually got to work on the wrecked 74 today for an hour or so today. I’m going to measure how far back the steering column is before I take it out. The inside bracket is bolted in still, but the welds are broke. The lower shaft is still attached to the steering box. Also some loved clear silicone. The windshield hinge had been siliconed and silicone all over the seal.

Took some measurements of the steering column. Someone on Freakbook said that the column was photoshopped. You can see the front upper coil cup is underneath the firewall now. Also the steering coupler had been pushed through the firewall and is against the brake pedal mount.

Got the steering column out and driver door opened and took off. Surprisingly the door glass wasn’t broken. Had the take the glass out then cut the door. The striker post is bent up. Also you see where the welds broke for the front floor support.
