Yep, time for the thread!

Registration opens in just over a month from now on Saturday, November 2. So get your game on and let's do this!

I know of at least 9-10 EB's that will be racing at this point, all in various classes. The 5150 Bronco of George Herman will be back, as well as the Lovell team I heard. Hopefully as many as in the 2015 race (pictures below). I'm looking forward to seeing mi amigos again! It's going to be another awesome year!🏁

If you're still on the fence, go check out the site and new rules.

Here we are in 2020 with the race now only 3 months away! Are you ready?

Markw has been working tirelessly on his Gaucho Mark's Racing 66 EB. We hope to be doing some major testing in March. There are currently 7 in our class. 2 are EBs, and an '83 and '87.

As of this post, there are 153 entries total. 12 Broncos, 8 are EBs. I think the Lovell EB will be in the mix but they haven't registered yet. Chris' (landshark99) 72 is looking sweet with fresh paint, but a little lonely in the Legends 4x4 class.

There are a lot of 60s and 70s F100s this year as well, including Chris Sullivan's awesome patina '66.

We're spread out thin in different classes for the first time this year due to the new vehicle rules, but that certainly won't put a damper on the fun.

I won't be heading to Baja before the race so I'm looking forward to it big time. My work is getting busy and it looks like I'm currently booked up through March.

Are there any more CB members that will be registering? Anyone planning on being on a team or heading down for the race?

Well we've been at it in all of our "spare" time! Drivetrain pretty well dialed in so attention this round is suspension. New leaves and coils all around, new shocks, rebuilt front axle, proper cross bracing in front. Every event is a proving ground and the learning curve goes on forever. Basics are simple, the devil's in the details as always. Every rig is different, every driver is different. Courses are different but terrain is similar. Little margin for error.
All in all it's an awesome, consuming hobby! Join up!!!

George called me to hook up with he and his wife during the holidays when they were out this way to see his Cardinals lose to the Rams. We were going to meet them for dinner the evening before the game, but they did a 10 or 11 mile hike to the Hollywood sign and overdid it that day so we missed them. His brother Paul came down for the NORRA 500 in October and hung out with us some. He will be there in April as well. The brothers are back!
Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

I know it would be a huge undertaking and expensive for you Bax, but if this is on your bucket list you need to get up here and hook up with a team!

Not to mention the lifelong Bronco lovers I've met over the years by just being a part of the brotherhood, I've also made so many lifelong friends I had never (and probably would never have) met before we both took a leap of faith and hooked up to do this race. It's always a little strange at first, not knowing someone except from on here, then meeting in Baja to do a 4 or 5 day race to the tip together. Not even knowing what they look like. It was like a blind date for a race team, lol! The reward and bonding changes your life. Not only welcoming and meeting guys on our team for the first time, but meeting all the other Bronco brothers and other racers that share the passion.

The highs and lows that come from racing with your buds in Baja are different from anything you'll ever experience, and when you get to that finish line in Cabo, it's like like a flood of emotions are released. You just did Baja!

I have thought about for several years. With several years spanning between thoughts. No Idea how to even begin. Plus the distance, it's not in my back yard. It's not something you just go out to watch. Just the cost has to be way up there. I admire you all for taking on the challenges.

Well the simple concept is: Fly to San Diego, meet up with your team, spend the next 5 days on the road, enjoy the awards ceremony and fly home from Cabo. It's the details that get complicated. Your cost would be airfare, a wrist band, food, lodging and fuel costs. Set costs are airfare and the wrist band. Everything else is variable. Some like a nice clean motel and others like to sleep on the trailer. Food is generally not expensive. Fuel costs are up to the team and how they choose to divvy up expenses. It will take a couple of years to make the contacts and work out the details of your participation.
It happened to work out well for me. Bukin67 was willing to give me a chance and it's worked out better than I ever dreamed. What I thought was going to be a one time adventure has turned into something much more. A whole new group of great friends, a race Bronco of my own and something of an obsession. Some day I'll sell the Bronco but I'll have those friends the rest of my life!

Good to see Brad & Roger Lovell have officially registered. If you're still thinking about entering, it's getting close but there's still time to make it happen!
