So... That grill (LOL!)

No need to add another name to your list, but I'm curious, what leads you to ditch that piece of jewelry you so painstakingly had fabricated?

I prefer the stock nose on a Bronco, but you made a very nice bit of bling, and a nod to Icon.

You know, Picasso's Las Meninas waas never finished either!

I think my list of people interested is pretty long. First I have to find a NOS or very high end grill. The goal is not rusty or dented.

Thanks! I think my tastes have changed a lot since I started this build. I think if I could do it over I would get a survivor and not paint it. Then do some sort of efi and have more of a around the town rig. Nothing to this level.

I get a message every few weeks about making another grill. It would be nice for that to end:)

I’m a proud owner of a Nos bronco gril! Now time to buy all the stock parts for it. My grill will be going for sale soon.

Well the nos grill is no longer pristine. Wow this was a pain. Goal was early 66-68 turn signals (bcbroncos led ones) and trim ring. I spent 3-4 hours taping off and getting the trim ring just right. Also I am switching all the billet black trim to traditional chrome. Changes the looks so much. I have decided I want my classics to look classic. So tastefully modified is the goal?

I will sell the grill, but my painter just quit on me. I found a run in the paint and I have a quarter to rocker seam sealer crack on the passenger side. We talked about it before he did it and I instructed him that bronco guys don't seam seal that spot since it's prone to crack. Between those two things and my need to want it near perfect, he decided to part ways with me. I live in a tiny town (9K people) so not a ton of options for paint without traveling. I am pretty sad, I thought I had finally found a paint guy worth trusting. I might just leave it all for the summer and pickup after fall.

HEY MAN......Some guys over at Z-Car are saying nice things about you. Apparently they loved having you as a customer.

https://www.zcarblog.com/

Small world! I have bought some amazing stuff through them. I really wish the bronco world had a brake kit like theirs.

Here is a link to the writeup on me.

Here is my 240z build page.

Build update!

I have been driving it all summer (my wife steals it a lot) and it's been a blast. Most of my mods I am very happy with. I have begun to live with some of the paint imperfections, since nobody but me sees them, but I will have them fixed when I go back to a stock grill.

I wish I would have done a single stage paint. I have grown to love the style/ look on older cars, also the ability to infinitely repair them sure seems nice.

Can you share your thoughts about wishing you had done a single stage paint? I’m starting to thinking about my repainting plan.

Single stage doesn’t have a clear coat. You buff and polish it to be shiny. It’s how all older cars were painted. Repairing it is easier. Since all you do is paint buff and polish.
