So didn’t get a lot done last year. My career took a left turn, for the good but it took a lot of my free time.
This is my new partner Echo. We’re a narcotics and tracking team. Probably the best partner I’ve ever had at work.

We also moved at the end of the year but I got a 3 car garage out of it with a basement for a shop. No more working in the driveway!!!
Should be making some good progress now.

Getting close to having the metalwork done on the body. The passenger inner fender was the last large part of the body to get replaced. Have a few small patches to put in. Hope to get the underside cleaned and painted in the next few weeks. Have it ready to sit down on the frame.

I decided to make some changes to the frame. Got some long travel shock mounts and wider spring perches in the front for the wider axle. And a inboard long travel shock mount for the rear.

So major metal work is done and had the body media blasted. Money well spent!
I was able to get it in epoxy sealer a few days later.

Was going back and forth about the suspension and decided to do inboard shocks on the rear, and extended front shocks in the front. Then I told myself Self I’m cutting all this off might as well do the wider spring perches in the front for the full with axles while I’m at it. Snowball effect I guess.
Got the frame painted ran the brake line to the rear and the new fuel line for the fuel injection. Figured it was easier to run them before the body went on.

Thought I was done with major metalwork. But decided I wanted to put in vented inner fenders to help with cooling. Looking up premade ones they were out of budget, so I got some perforated 16 gauge steel and some bar stock and made my own for 75 bucks.

Got the underside coated used raptor liner. Seams like a quality product and simple to apply.

Got the body off the rotisserie/original frame. Wasn’t really that bad of an operation even by myself using an engine lift. I put in eye bolts in the body mounting holes in the front floorboards and ones in the rear seat mounting holes closet to the tailgate. Used a ratchet strap from the lift to each eye bolt, and was able to lift the body no problem. Rolled the old frame out and the new one in to place. Lowering a little at a time I was able to set it right down on the new body. Mount bushings without a problem.
Having everything ready to go it only took a couple of hours from start to finish.
No I get to start mocking it up, be great to see it actually start to look like a real vehicle.
