Ridiculous Question - am I in 2H?

Maybe the dumbest question on the board ever. I apologize in advance.

Been a bit since I had my 75 up and going. I am running this weekend and I have the J-Shifter and I *THINK* it came out of 2H.

So I am monkeying around with it but how do I easily know for sure if I am in 2H vs 4H or 4L

Thanks!

The Backwards "J" shifter is a backward J pattern. With your shifter go to the bottom of the J, go over to the right(toward the passenger), and up. I this week just bought a shift knob with the pattern on it just so my sons who borrow my bronco will know how to get the transfer case back in 2 high after they knocked the lever out of gear or grab it thinking it was the regular shift knob. I have the Hurst aluminum shifter handle - pretty, but not worth something being screwed up because there wasn't a shift pattern apparent and it being driven around in four low. John B

Just thought, go to page 237 (#4980) in Tom's Bronco Parts and cut out the picture of the J shift knob. Tape it inside the glove box until you spend the fifteen bucks for a new knob or pick up a used one.

With the hubs unlocked in 2wd high you can turn the front drive shaft by hand and rotate it.
