Below are photos of motor test fit. I installed new engine frame mounts but tacked to frame for fitting. Glaring problems or mistakes ? Will C4 with Dana 20 (still be rebuilt) mount with crossmember in factory location ? Thanks

If the towers are located correctly, everything fits and the trans crossmember remains in the original location. A 351 is the same length as a 302, which had a different intermediate/adapter housing to keep the trans and t-case in the same place between 6 and 8 cylinder engines.
So in theory you're good to go.

But I can't tell just from looking if you have the mounts in the proper locations. I know there are exact measurements, so as long as you used those everything should be good.
The critical locating factor in my mind, is that it's not too far rearward. There is just no room for error between the driver's side cylinder head and the firewall. Which you can't check yet, of course, because the body is not in place yet.

Maybe someone can check some consistent areas and compare to yours. A timing cover surface to front crossmember? Rear block surface to some known point on the frame, such as the holes for the crossmember brackets?
I don't know. Maybe just compare your mounts to the measurements in the instructions and cross your fingers!;D

Good luck.

Assuming you're not using the old six-cylinder housing that is?

Thanks gents. I have 8 cyl frame for off road build I’ve checked measurements. My tub in on a rotisserie in front of the 351 frame, and will be able to sit on 351 as soon as finish tub final measurements and assembly. In theory, anyway !

I used the measurement from Duffy when I put the motor mounts in. If I remember right the tranny crossmember has a little play to work with and fit in the stock holes. I did have to clearance the drivers side of the firewall a little where the intake bolts to the head. That's on a 66.

My tub in on a rotisserie in front of the 351 frame,

if you wouldn't mind could you measure your tub from the drivers floorboard body mount hole to face of driver side firewall? I'm going to measure same on my 72 when I get home, appreciate it. -jeff
