migs Bronco Barn - a chronicle of what's happening at the new place

Welcome to my Bronco Barn.

So, after all the enjoyment I've had creating and keeping up with the individual build threads, I thought it might be fun and entertaining to chronicle the various projects that I'm working on in here from time to time... be it my own builds, small projects, projects for friends, or a new part in creation...maybe even a few non Bronco related things now and then. I have a habit of jumping around from project to project so this will at least help me keep track of what I've been working on and how much I've been slacking off...

Why call it a Bronco Barn?... It may not be a true old fashioned barn and more of a modern garage if you will, but it is shaped like a barn and built into a hill side with multiple levels, plus there are chickens and tractors hanging around...and of course it's typically filled with at least a few Broncos...
Someday I would like to refinish it so it looks more like a real barn on the outside.

This endeavor started a couple of years ago when I had the opportunity to move to this new place, and it has pretty much taken all this while to really get things set up to a point where I can start to feel productive. I still have more to do but most of the important stuff has been squared away.
Hopefully good things to come here on out...and lots of Bronco pictures!

Well let's start off with some views of the place along with some of the tenants and a few of the visitors that have stopped by...

One of the first outsiders to come in early for some help (amidst the shuffling around of everything in the shop) was fatboy's yellow Bronco. see it's build thread here.
the goal was/is to just get it road worthy so it can be used while his other project is underway. among many other issues, it was in desperate need of front suspension bushings...
It's currently still here and probably a little behind schedule but some progress has been made...

And tasker has been keeping me busy with rear axle projects

First he brings me one to rehab after finding out that they don't work too well without gear oil...

all new gears and bearings, a new carrier as well as a beefy new housing. the axle shafts were pitted where the seal rides but I was able to turn a touch off in the lathe to smooth it out. added a drain plug to the housing and welded on some shock mounts then cleaned it all up, painted it and put it together.

THIS, he has saved us all a couple of times. He is a great guy and a hell of a fabricator!
