1969 Bronco Radiator Overflow Tank Install

Hey All!

Got a question on the install of a radiator overflow tank for my 1969 Bronco. Does the hose need to be inserted so that it touches the bottom of the overflow tank or inserted enough so that it can be clamped down.

Run the hose to the bottom of the tank.

Bottom or near bottom.
When the engine cools off there will be a vacuum in the cooling system that will draw the coolant back into the cooling system. That vacuum will suck the coolant back up the overflow hose and into the engine. It needs to be at the bottom so it sucks coolant and not air.

I say near bottom just so if any dirt gets in, it can settle to the bottom and not drawn into the cooling system.
