1970 Early Bronco Frame
Glove box door with VIN tag
Washington Title
Bill of sale
Frame appears to be in good solid and restorable condition. Old paint and rust. Cleaned off areas where VIN is stamped. Some of the stamping is hard to read and I did not want to work it too much.
Several people have told me these are v8 engine mounts.
1st and 9th are hard to read. See the photos. *U15FLJ17869*
U15 = Wagon
F = 170 CID inline 6
L = Michigan assembly plant
J = May 1970
J17869 = Serial number
On the title the VIN and GB door, the VIN is U15GLJ17869.
U15 = Wagon
G = 302 CID V8
L = Michigan assembly plant
J = May 1970
J17869 = Serial number
Note the difference in the 4th character F vs G is for the engine code. My best guess is an error from the factory.
The story... About 12 years ago a friend was into Broncos and collecting parts and pieces. We made a road trip to Seattle WA area and picked up this frame, title and GB door. Shortly after, friend moved and asked me to store the frame. His situation recently changed (I am also tired of storing it) and he asked me to sell it. Though I know nothing about Broncos, I am happy to reach out to him to get responses to your questions.
