1977 Bronco Sport. 302, 3-speed with column shift, Dana 20 x-fer, 9 inch rear, 44 front with disc brakes, power steering, power brakes. 77K on odometer and title. Mostly stock except cut wheel wells and fender flares. The tires are virtually new with about 1000 miles on them. Paint was new about 7 years ago and was Dupont Centari turquoise and white for the hardtop. There are a few spots that could use a touch up and I have a quart of extra paint. A lot of the metal has been replaced with new or rust free. There is virtually no visible rust on any of the exterior body….just in places where the paint has been chipped. There is some surface rust on the interior floor plans. I bought this Bronco in December 2004 with the intention to restore further but it has been sitting in my garage ever since (not plated to drive). The previous owner had the intake manifold gasket replaced and the carburetor rebuilt. The one thing that needs attention with this bronco….the clutch probably needs replaced along with flywheel resurfacing. When taking off in 1st gear high range, there is a slight vibration when letting out the clutch pedal. After that, it is all smooth through other gears, shifting, and different speeds. I never tore into the bronco to address the tranny problem, but I did purchase 2 other transmission options depending what route I wanted to take. One is C4 auto that is mated to a Dana 20 transfer case. The other is a rebuilt NV3550 5 speed transmission. The C4 setup is for sale with the Bronco and I am going to list the NV separately for $800. The C4 came from a supposedly running/driving early Bronco about 5 years ago. I was going to rebuild it before using….it doesn’t have a torque converter, but is otherwise a complete tranny/transfer setup that can be bolted in.
