I purchased the truck from the original owner here in Vegas. Since then I have done alot to it cosmetically and mechanically. Nice, truck! I'd take an honest hard look at those 6.4's before you get rid of a 7.3! I drive a 6.4 every day so I'm fairly qualified to warn you:eek:

Thanks alot! I have put alot of time into swapping parts from newer trucks into this one because i do like the 7.3 motor just liked the newer lights, interior, tailgate etc better. so now i have best of both. I started with a 7.3 as my first diesel. Then sold it and jumped into an 05 6.0. Loved the newer interiors and just the refined options like upfitter switches, seats etc. sold the 6.0 and had planned to buy a 6.4 but I got screwed out of one before buying this truck. I had found me a nice 08 6.4 33K miles, 8" lift, amp steps, h&s tuner, etc etc. Made the guy an offer which he accepted. Got all his info to get the cashiers check/cash in his name. Rented a one way rental car to Cali (cost me $188) and he sold it from under me when i was halfway out there. Everything happens for a reason though.

What kinda problems have you had with the 6.4? I'll be deleting the egr and dpf and tuning.

I have an 08 with the 6.4 and I absolutely love that truck and engine, but the main downside to it is the shi*ty mileage. Expect 8-10 on a good day with the wind blowing you

Lol Ill be deleting all dpf/egr stuff and tuning. I've heard good things about mpg on tuned and deleted 6.4. I'm actually pretty excited.

My dpf deleted 6.4 only gets 10.5 on a good day! 136,000 miles an its on its second engine, multiple turbos, head gaskets, and 3 sets of exhaust gaskets. Its a gutless pig under 2,000 rpm's and that's with a 125 horse program in it. Set on stock and its a total turd. A regular pickup would be better though I'm sure.

I have a 2008 with 121,000 on the clock and I deleted the DPF and Cat. I went cheap on the tuner and got the DPF-R. My mileage went from 12/14.5 to 15/18. These trucks are on the slight turd side, but once it is rolling it is a beast.

Needabronco- Oh wow. See i've read pretty good things on the forums about dpf deleted and h&s tuned trucks. I had a 6.0 which everyone said was a terrible motor etc. However i deleted my egr and tuned it and it was monster. Which im hoping ill get the same from this 6.4 if i buy one. I have been looking into other truck as well but im not sure what ill end up in.

okorangebrnco- see thats more what ive been reading. Guys pulling 15-18 mixed. which i am okay with as that what i get in my 7.3 now. i see about 16 mixed on the 35's with a 6' lift.

That's a great looking truck, don't get rid of it for a 6.0l, a 6.4l or a 6.7l. I've got a 02' excursion 4x4 7.3 with 275,000miles, only changed starter and alt, everthing else is orginial. Own a 03' truck just like yours only a 6.0l, 297,000 miles, original egr and egr cooler, head gasket and studs, as well as almost everything else. They'll last if they're taken care of. They've both been awesome vehicles. DON'T DO IT MAN!!!!!! just kidding you, hope your sell goes well.:)

Thanks man! I loved the power of my 6.0. I had that 05 CCLB with an 8" lift, 5" exhaust, egr delete, etc. Had an SCT x3 with innovative diesel tuning. I had towed my mustang out to the track and got a few passes in before snapping the bolt on my alternator and couldn't find one to replace it. Decided since i had paid the track time id run my diesel to see how shed do. In 4WD boost launching at 22pds I turned a 13.9 at 113MPH. Still have a picture of my 2 vehicles and time slips framed next to my bed at home. Im just getting an itch to play with a 6.4 now.

on another note. Stack has been removed. Original bed piece that was cut out was welded back into place and coated with bed liner and side exit exhaust was reinstalled. I have an interested party from Flordia who is interested and was going to remove the stack anyways so i figured id get some more interest if i did the work and welded the pieces back in.
