• Be EXTREMELY cautious if someone offers to buy your Bronco for more than your asking price and sight unseen. ESPECIALLY if the buyer is overseas. It's probably a scam.

Price: $ 750

Selling a 4 speed top loader that came with my Bronco when I bought it. It and the 3 speed were in the back, so I don't know much about it except what I can get from the tag.

RUG-J2
1968-69
Comet/Fairlane
390-4V GT
wide
28-spline

Transmission seems tight with no slop and would bolt in nicely replacing a 3 speed. It does come with the crossmember, but not the D20 transfer case.
Please let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer.

PM me and I'll send pics. I'm a noob and can't figure out how to attach photos

Does it have the correct mainshaft in it? You said it "came with your Bronco". Was it in your Bronco and working or just setting in the back???

To make a true 4 spd toploader fit in a Bronco it needs to be the small block bell housing pattern (to fit a sb) and needs the AA main shaft in it so it will fit thru the adapter and into the D20. There's also a big block one so thst is a wide ratio (like you posted) which means it has a very unappealing 1st gear ratio of I believe 2.32:1 ??

You might have much better luck on Marketplace or FB and they are worth a lot $$.

Wish ya the best selling it.

Yes, it does have the correct mainshaft and is currently bolted to a Dana 20. That's kind of my problem…. The mustang guys will want the full trans with the tail section and this one has been adapted to the Dana20. I’ll check the bell housing but it came with one unattached so I than see if it fits the old three speed.

Thanks for the info!!

The tail adapter (between the trans and xfer case) also has to be drilled and capped for the 3rd shift rail of the 4 speed.
