Thanks Justin. I thought it was a ‘72 only pattern. The ‘72 Bronco ad mentions “Random Stripe”, and nothing different for the Sport package.

It is a 72 only pattern, but only the Explorer/Sport packages received the interior. A Sport (without the Explorer package) would have had parchment seats. It also didn’t matter which color the 72 Explorer/Sport Bronco was, they all received the same Random Stripe seats. The following year the interior in an Explorer matched the body color. Either orange or blue for 73.

Right…. the Sport package is irrelevant. It’s just ‘72 Explorer upholstery. That’s all there was.

The 72 Explorer only came with the Sport Package (one year only) and with this interior. The other material shown on crawln68’s paper is from a 73 orange on orange explorer.
Hey Justin, in looking at your seats, it looks the vinyl on the rear seat is wider than the vinyl on the front seat. Is that true? Or is is it just the camera angle making it look wider?
