Need help
Installed a new stereo, speakers, amplifier, etc and did so in stages to check sound quality, wiring issues/shorts, etc
Using good speakers and speaker wires, but budget HUD and amp
First installed HUD, wired directly to battery to positive and negative terminals, put in a toggle kill switch so as to not drain the battery when not using, ran the speaker wires as planned 2 6.5" in the far back and 2 6x9 in front of the back seat
With just the HUD installed, sound was great; no whine from the alternator, fuel pump or anything. As expected did have the volume as with the amp attached but still good
Knowing that setup was good, moved on to the amp and installed under the passengers seat powered directly to the battery and grounded to the body using a bare metal area that I sanded down around one of the family roll bar bolts and made nice and tight. Completed wiring in the speakers and tested with the RCA cables to the amp above the floor pans away from the amp power wire.
Sounded amazing, with more volume than my eardrums could tolerate at less than max volume.
Then started the bronco up. AAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! Horrible whine, and I think some of the whine is fuel pump because I hear a lower volume whine with the fuel pump on but engine not running, but then when engine is running, horrible engine whine that corresponds to engine RPM.
I have rechecked the ground for the amp and resanded the metal and retightened the bolt and nice and snug. Would having the HUD ground going back to the battery give any issues with the amp whining when the HUD worked perfect with no whine when there was no amp in the system
Any thoughts or help greatly appreciated
Pyle marine radio and pyle 400w marine amp. Cheap to get started and get things wired up, so if I buggered them up I wouldn't be too upset.
