Of all the trans swaps out there are there any that can have compression braking in all gears including 1'st?
I know this means a manual valve body but it seems no one makes one for the c4 in the revers pattern with compression braking in 1'st. I have one that is a forward valve body with compression braking in all gears, unfortunetly a screw pulled its threads out and caused the valve body to slip. Not sure I can get it repaired, not sure I want to since I like the reverse pattern.

That should work with the AOD. I know the stock shift pattern is weird and won't allow full control of first but it could work. Because of the 1-D-OD shift the transmission will go into 2nd when you shift to "1" and decide on it's own when to downshift to 1st.

Yikes, thats not really what I want. I want a full manual valve body, I know most would say get a manual trans but for many reasons I want an auto but with a full manual valve body. I know the converter can be locked up manually and that may be the way for me to go. Just looking to see whats out there.
