I've got an Uncut 1966 Halfcab with the 170 c.i. six cylinder engine and three-speed manual on the column. I am looking to make this truck my daily driver and would like to upgrade to an automatic transmission. I have a 1973 donor parts Bronco that has a 302 V8 with auto transmission. WOULD I BE ABLE TO USE THIS TRANSMISSION WITH THE 170 C.I. SIX CYLINDER ENGINE??? Could I just bolt the auto trans right on or are the bolt patterns different on the bellhousings?? Is there ANY way that I can put this C4 auto trans from the 302 V8 onto the 170 six cylinder and into my hlafcab without having to change the vehicle's engine??? Is there an adapter bellhousing that would work?? Please help!!! Thanks.

Well they made c4's for 6 cyl's So I would say yes. However the bolt patern is different from a 6 to an 8 so check and see if the c4 has a removable bell housing. If it does I think all you will have to do is swap out the bellhousings.
