Bad horn button?

I'm guessing this is simple and I'm just dumb. When my center horn button is straight (Bronco image in the center is horizontal) the horn doesn't work. When I turn it 30 or so degrees to the right, it works fine. What am I missing? Bad horn button? Thank you!

Probably the slip ring at the turn signal switch

Do you have the 2-wire horn button with 2 contacts on the slip ring/steering wheel adaptor? Or the one wire with 1 contact and a horn relay?

I have had a new slip ring on an aftermarket steering wheel go bad in a very short time. You have to run the lube that comes with the adaptor as well.
