I did it a quick pre-run of Barrett-Jackson today and got photos of many of the Broncos there. In general, the quality of trucks is improving every year.

Maxlider and Gateway are the vendors here this year. I had my first sighting of the new Tom's rear sliding windows and also their p/s box.

In the past, @Broncobowsher and I have had fun looking at the fab fails on some of these trucks. In my quick review today, I only found one that bugged me - that Cadillac caliper is going to dent the body of that shock if the shock ever moves around much during suspension movement. The BC shock shifters would solve this quickly.

This poor truck really needed those rear bows on the soft top pushed into position....

Some of the rigs in the fancier display section. I'm told by @beerandfish that those jump seats are from Dick's Sporting Goods. I've seen several sets in trucks auctioned on BaT recently.

I didn't get a chance to look at the undercarriage on the blue one - I couldn't get much closer with those flares staring at me....

And surrounded by millions of dollars of cars and trucks, and my favorite of the whole show was this '66 V8 wagon (June build). A real poor quality paint job but I loved it anyway. Bench seat, vintage air deflector and a 3rd gas tank with the filler under the passenger's side of the seat ("honey, why does it always smell like gas in here?". I endured the wrath of a decrepit, elderly woman with a badge and a walker who chastised me for opening the door to take a pic of that gas cap.

I'll be there again next weekend if anyone needs more pics of a particular rig.

Your humble reporter,
Todd Z.

Yes, but did you find any household wire nuts? Under dash, hanging out in plane sight or back at the tail lights are the common places. Don't forget the tag light, that is probably the most common.

I didn't see any this year! I'm telling ya - these trucks are getting nicer :).

Funny, I was going to post that a lot of these builders don't comprehend the ratio of rim size to the style of an EB. 20"+ rims just look god awful on any EB no matter how it's built.
Yeah, I hate those too!

And I also saw several write-ups on the windows that bragged about Wilwood brakes etc and when I looked underneath, I saw plain ol' Chevy calipers...which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

The wheels on most of the modified rigs look utterly awful, IMHO. After seeing the contraption that my neighbor paid over $140k for last year, I'm feeling cynical. How would it be to actually drive most of them? Not just serious off roading, but more mundane stuff like Starbucks runs.

More bigger lifts and bigger wheel / tire setups than I was expecting to see but thank you for sharing.

One of my favorites from 5 or 7 years ago was when they decided it needed a little less lift. It had lift blocks and lift springs. They took the blocks out, but they would have needed new U-bolts. So they put the lift blocks on TOP of the leaf spring, but under the retainer plate. That way they could save a buck and not buy new U-bolts.

Glad to hear the quality is getting better.
