I’ve been working on the F250 hydro boost upgrade. Tonight I located and drill the 1 5/8 diameter hole in the firewall for the hydro unit. Then I was able to test fit the unit on the mounting plate. The plate is based on the design by CB member Spaggyroe, which was posted in the thread. “Firewall reinforcement plate”.
Spaggyroe mentioned that the plate, moves the boost unit. Six inches to the driver side. The six inch move will work but if I were to do it over. I would only move it 5 1/2”. Because the boost units large 1 7/8 mounting nut. Enter fears with the brake pedal mounting unit. So I had to notch the mounting unit to clear the nut. I will get post picture of the notched mount. When I take it out again.

Attached is a picture of the push rod end of the unit through the firewall under the cowl. For design sake I moved the break pedal over to the unit location. It looks like the length of the F250 push rod will work with the stock pedal. However I would like to verify that the pedal will be in the proper relaxed (distance from the firewall) position. When I pull back the pedal. The center of the mounting pin is about 7” from the firewall. Is there anyone out there that can get the center distance of the pin to the firewall on a stock power brake set up? I’m trying to avoided having to re-install my stock unit to make that measurement. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Instructions for Wild Horses vacuum booster setup shows the distance should be approximately 7" from the back of the bracket (basically the firewall) to the center of the pushrod hole.

Thanks all. You guy were spot on with 7”. I took the time to mount the stock vacuum booster to verify the measurement. And it was 7”. Who would have guessed that a 2000 F250 hydroboost. Mounted in a 76 Bronco would match in pushrod length exactly. Head out to get a powerball ticket!

Thanks again everyone.
