cage mounted seats and tall drivers...

Does anyone have have any experience with this scenario? The windshield seems short enough as it is, and cage mounted seats look like they would sit a few inches higher than stock seats. I just wonder if the top of the windshield frame would get in your line of sight, or if the top of the cage would be a head hazard? I am soon to buy a cage, and was tossing around the seat tie ins, but I am 6'1" tall...

Same problem as me. I am 6'4. I mounted my Eclipse seats to the floor, and I am only about 3-4 inches off the floor.

I have thought about dropping the driver side pan to match the passenger side to reclaim some heigth, but that is as far as I've got--just thought about it.

I had the same concern when I built my new cage a couple of years ago. Here's a pic of how I mounted my seats. The cross tubes almost touch the floor, and the plate steel that the seats mount to are welded to the bottom of those tubes. So, they're only about 1/2" off of the floor. It depends a lot on what kind of seats you get, but this shows one way of mounting seats to a cage so it doesn't raise them much at all above the floor.

mount them the same just move the front spreader bar forward so that you can mount the seat flat and still slide it forward and backward. I did this on one previous cage. Now i hve just mounted the seats fixed no slides to the tubes the same way.
